Kit runs a UK web shop and he does everything himself: buying products, operating his shopping cart and marketing. His products had been showing on the free Google Product Search for 2 years already. It had gotten him a lot of traffic so he was eager to move to the paid Google Shopping in order to keep that traffic and even grow it.
His product data feed had been in his Google Merchant Center for those 2 years and he had no errors. But then he realized that his Google Category was wrong: His shopping cart had exported product type as Google Category. That was no problem way back when it was still called Froogle, but Google Category is mandatory for his products on Google Shopping. So he needs to fix it or Google will stop showing his products on June 11th, 2013, when the migration to the paid model is complete.
